Dino Legs 1.5 is out and on IndieDB!

Hi all,

I have just released a new version of Dino Legs. And for the occasion I registered my game on IndieDB!

The big improvement in this new version is I have updated the graphics. Some work still needs to be done but as you can see on the picture the difference is visible!

For the rest Dino Legs has the following features:
- An "Arcade" mode with a gameplay that is close to the original game Dino Eggs.
- A "Story" mode that contains 65 levels to complete. Each level should not only challenge your skills but also your brain because the goal is not to lose a single egg or baby dinosaure!
- A multiplayer mode.
- A level editor.

Hope you enjoy it and Merry Christmas!

hi,
I've been looking for a downloadable version of dino eggs for awhile. Thanks or making this available, it's major nostalgia for me :) I'll try to check back to see if you answer, but I already tried to download it once and obviously did it wrong. Could you provide a step by step?

Hi Sharlyn

Congratulations! you are the first who entered a comment on this dev blog! :)

Well I am very happy to hear that you are interested by Dino Legs. I am really trying to do my best in order to give a sequel to the classic Dino Eggs game. I hope you will enjoy it!

But first how to download and install it.

To download it there is a download link called "Download latest version (1.5)" directly on this blog on the right side. Otherwise you can also get it from IndieDB.

Once downloaded you have to unzip all the files inside "DinoLegs_1.5.zip" and follow the instructions in the "readme.txt" file. These instructions are the following:
1. Double click on "CheckFramework.vbs". This script will check if you have the necessary frameworks installed on your machine and if not will provide you the necessary links where you will get them.
2. Once everything installed double clicking on "DinoLegs.exe" should run the game.

Please do not hesitate to contact me if you encounter problems. I will be happy to help :)

And also as I am currently working on a newer version I am looking for feedback about the game itself in order to improve it. So do not hesitate to tell me if you find it good... or bad! :)

sorry it took so long for me to get back to you. I could not find the files right away, did a search for both the 1.5 zip and the txt. Found both, but upon trying to run the program was told it stopped working. I am in firefox, should I try it in explorer instead?

Hi Sharlyn

Dino Legs is an application that runs directly on Windows and not in a web browser. So it does not matter if you download it with firefox or internet explorer.

Which version of windows do you have? Did you try running the file "CheckFramework.vbs"? To do so you can click on the following link:
CheckFramework.vbs

Are you still working on this? I'm an older retro gamer and played dino eggs on the apple II and the ibm back in the 80's. Really appreciate the effort and am going to play this with my 10 yo grandbaby and will send feedback for you. Thanks again Jim

Hi Jim

Thanks a lot for your very nice message! I hope you will enjoy the game.

Yes I am still working on Dino Legs... but not alone anymore! The original author of the game David Schroeder has contacted me and we are now doing an official sequel to Dino Eggs!

Expect more news soon!

PS: Please be aware that the version you can download here is very old and is not at all reflecting the current state of the game!
